"OPPOsaurus WRX" (opposaurus)

Maybe someone can cross post this to one of our sister site. I need help with ideas for Mothersday for my wife. The past couple years I’ve tried doing some crafts with the kids with minimal sucess. I’d like to do something with them that could produce a gift that could be somewhat usefull and not just some stupid pintrest hand shaped flower that gets eaten by the cat in a few days. My best thought right now is painting a coffee mug - something useful, which would result in 2 mugs as there are two kids. (twin 3 y/o) MY other thought would be something that could tie into Opposaurus Jr #3.... O yea theres gunna be an Opposaurus #3 BTW - the 3rd and final installment of Opposauruses. So what do you guys think?

You should come up with a really cool way to tell her about Opposaurus 3.0.

O this is for my kids for my wife. My mom already knows. We went to a big family party and my mom tried to give my wife a glass of wine and she said no just water. 5 minutes later everyone knew

Kid-decorated mugs are a cute idea.
If I were a mother of twin 3 year old with another in the cooker, though, what I’d REALLY want is me time. Can you coordinate something with maybe her BFF or a sister where she can have a girls day out with pampering or whatever she’s into, and you handle all the kid stuff (and make sure she doesn’t have to deal with any cleanup when she gets home)?

What kinds of things does she like?
I.e., does she like gardening & flowers? Does she like to sew, scrapbook, knit/crochet, or do other crafting? Is she into writing or journaling? Does she really like cooking/baking? Is she a big coffee or tea fan? Does she love reading? Etc.
If none of these—DID she like to do any before the kiddos?
Knowing which she likes may help us to come up with ideas

I'm lucky, my wife just wants me and the kids to clean her car inside and out, which she hates doing but we actually enjoy. Her car is so filthy right now it'll probably take us all day. Is the van dirty enough for this to be an option?

my kids really enjoyed the pottery painting place. A: its a fun activity to occupy youngsters. B: if you time it right you give her the gift of a quiet house C: you get the aforementioned mugs.
I say go for it

Take her on a family picnic to the park. Wash the dishes. Vacuum.
Invite all the bros over to watch a videotaped football game and tell her she’s the guest of honor.

allroad content ftw! Any mods? Kermit interior?
Do you have any do it yourself painting places or jewelry places? Could be a bit of an adventure with kids but could be fun and there is a personalized product at the end of it.

As a mom of one three year old and one 6 month old all I want is to wake up, have breakfast, drink two coffees, poop without anyone watching/congratulating me, and then soak in my tub without any baby toys for 45 minutes. Heaven.
My hubs (and kids I guess) got me eucalyptus & mint bath salt, some lady lotions and bought mussels for dinner tonight. So I’m well on my way.
Bonus: do a boy cleaning of your bathroom(s). Vacuum something. Unload the dishwasher. I mean I don’t know what the domestic distribution is in your house, but lighten her load and she will be a happy mom.

My wife requested to be left alone for a few hours. Ha ha. So I got flowers and the boy and I are going to go on an adventure while mom enjoys the silence. Oh and a nice bottle of wine.

Maybe start a stepping-stone path? They’re young, but they could press their hand or foot in. You can update the path every year and watch the prints get bigger (and the art get better).

Or this one, since the art is part of the mold:

Hire a child actor and introduce it as yours that you just found out about from a previous relationship. Then tell her s/he’s coming to live with you now. Happy Mothers Day!

I’ve heard really good things about this DiY from a lot of people:

There are multiple versions, but the gist is the same. If you have clothes you don’t mind the kiddies destroying and they won’t eat the markers.

Thanks! We had one in the back yard. I was in middle school, and I did both my print and my dog’s paw print. It was nice to have 10 years later when she passed away.
I am for sure going to do a stone path if I'm ever settled with kids and a yard.

Good job! She had mentioned wanting to do those and I forgot all about them. I got 1 for each kid. 40% off too. Thanks!

Wow impressive car recognition for summertime outside of OPPO. Ii not have the green interior (sorry but thank gogod for that). I do have the 6 speed tho. Only ‘mods’ are just things to keep it on the road at this point. That painting place would have been perfect but I’ve run out of time.

Haha - I am definitely not a fan of the green interior, but so many allroads with the green exterior have it for whatever reason. Blech. Six speed means 2.7! Favorite motor - we’ve got two in our garage and they are tons of fun (allroad and B5 S4, both modified). Was super excited to see Audi content pop up in Groupthink. Good luck with the mother’s day gift.

Your the third I’ve come across on here with an Allroad. Just replaced a CV axle today. I bought the thing in December and havn’t stopped doing repairs. 03 with 175k miles. I only paid $3k it at least

Once you work out the kinks and repairs, it’s a great family car. Ours has seen many a road trip and camping expedition with the kids and the dog in the five years we’ve had it. And if you keep up with the maintenance, they basically go forever. We’ve got more than a half million miles in our driveway altogether. Enjoy and good luck. :)
